Board of Trustees

Why do we have a Board of Trustees?

All New Zealand Schools and state-integrated schools are required to have a Board of Trustees under the New Zealand Education Act.

Who is on the Board of Trustees?

The Waltham School Board of Trustees is made up of five parent representatives, one staff representative, and the Principal.

What is the role of the Board of Trustees?

Essentially the Board governs the school whilst the Principal manages the day to day running of the school. The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school, overseeing the management of personnel, property and finance rather than administrative detail. Enhancing student achievement is its focus.

Where can I find a copy of the Board Minutes?

Copies of the meeting minutes are available at the school office.
